” Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the number of moments that take our breath away.”
Growing up in Atlanta, Georgia, I first discovered my love of photography in high school – spending countless hours working in a dark room developing my own film. While attending Loyola Marymount University I found my second passion, storytelling. Post-graduation I packed up my bags and headed to Los Angeles in pursuit of following my dreams of becoming a photographer and it was there that I truly realized just how rewarding it could be after shooting my first wedding. Needless to say I was hooked!
During my eight year residency in L.A., I was able to learn from some of the top wedding photographers in the world but my biggest reward came from the honor and privilege I felt to be a part of such a special day in a person’s life. Fast forward to today and I am still unconditionally in love with photography. When I reflect on why I have such a fondness for what I do, it’s genuinely because of the individuals that share their life with me. They let me into their most intimate world, with open hearts, and choose to see the reflection of their lives through my lens.
Even though I am based in Tampa, I cover weddings all over the world. No matter where the location, the best thing about my work is that it calls for me to be absolutely present in the moment. I focus all of my attention and energy on the here and now in order to capture that one fleeting moment in time. By striving to capture that impressionable image – you know the one that pulls you into that exact moment of time and even makes you forget about yourself, if only for a second – that is the greatest challenge and gift!
