Stefanie Rock and Jonathan Brady met on Match.com in January of 2007. After several conversations, Jonathan asked Stefanie out on a date, but just a few days before, he called her to let her know that he couldn’t wait until the weekend to see her and asked if she’d have dinner with him that very night.
From then on, they were inseparable; they couldn’t seem to get enough of each other’s infectious humor and charming personalities. Jonathan desperately wanted to spend every minute with Stefanie and after only five months together, he asked her to move in.
From almost the beginning, Jonathan planned to propose and knew that it couldn’t be ordinary as that was Stefanie’s only request. In June of 2009, they traveled to a destination that had always been a dream for both of them: Sydney, Australia. On day two of their vacation, the couple made their way through the Royal Botanic Gardens and arrived at the tip of the peninsula, which towered above the water and overlooked both the Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge.
Time stood still for Jonathan as he expressed his love and devotion for Stefanie. Despite the tears of joy streaming down his face, Stefanie had no idea what was coming next. Jonathan brought his hand out from behind his back to reveal a small blue box, opened it and got down on one knee. Stefanie did what she always laughs at women for doing: she covered her mouth with both hands, started crying and forgot to say yes. After finally accepting, Jonathan revealed that, while in Australia, he had arranged for the two of them to have an engagement session with a local photographer. Jonathan knew that there are few things in this world more important to Stefanie than her memories, especially photos, and knew that having this documented would be hugely important for her. A month and a half later, on Stefanie’s birthday, she unwrapped a final surprise. Her eyes filled with tears as she realized she was holding an album of pictures from the proposal.
The days that followed were filled with attention to every detail of their wedding day. On November 27th the couple married at Laishley Park and it was no less extravagant than the memories that led up to this very day. Surrounded by 140 of their closest friends and family members they promised that wherever life would take them, they would stand by each other, to live with and laugh with, and to bring joy to each other’s hearts for the rest of their lives.
